The War of the Coalition of Wrensbath is the conflict in which Wrensbath and it's allies rose up in revolt against the Commonwealth of Blackthorn. It began when the mayor of Wrensbath hosted an event at his academy and announced to all of his guests that Wrensbath would be withdrawing from Blackthorn and declaring war for control of the nation.

Prelude

After the conclusion of the Wivamovian rebellion, The Commonwealth of Blackthorn went back to business as usual. They developed their economy, and helped support their towns and cities as an effort to provide stability and loyalty. However they arguably neglected their military, and over time their alliances faded, leaving them with little resources for defence.

Friedrich Czírjäshchausé returned in the year of Jule, 17 AC, to Wrensbath as mayor. He planned to take revenge on the leadership of the Commonwealth of Blackthorn after he believed he was scorned after the fall of the Triumvirate of Ceyreto. He also wished to revive the latter nation, bringing back what he saw as a golden age on the continent. It was these motives that lead him to secretly form the coalition against the Commonwealth.

First Offensive

On August 31, 18 AC, Coalition forces sallied out to siege the city of Zethortal, they breached into the fortress and overwhelmed the defenders. Soldiers from Zydel maintained control of the field of battle, and fought off repeated attacks from the defenders. The Commonwealth forces attempted a counterattack on the city of Wrensbath whilst the main Coalition siege group was busy sieging Zethortal. They snuck into the city and surprised the soldiers defending Wrensbath, however a quick response was managed and Wrensbath managed to survive this attack.

A Flumenian siege party went out to attack the Coalition towns in Id'eskana, with the main force tied up sieging Zethortal they were an obvious weak point for the Commonwealth forces. Yet even with how lightly defended these towns and cities were, they managed to withstand against attack. The siege on Zethortal continued, and as forces had been diverted for the attacks on wrensbath and id'eskana, the Coalition forces eventually came out victorious.

With both attempted counterattacks defeated and the siege on Zethortal won, the Coalition forces moved onto the surrounding settlements. Guldhir fell, then Scarred Hallow and Fort Khirom. Not wanting to overextend themselves, the Coalition forces heldfast on their positions and dug in. They prepared a second offensive on the southern and eastern coasts of the Commonwealth, meanwhile Blackthorn attempted to gather it's forces and regroup.

Second Offensive

After the initial offensive, negotiations were held with the city of Leithlis for them to pull out of the war. After trading some war supplies and paying off their losses, and an offer of a leadership role in the post war government, Leithlis agreed to leave the war. Flumenia, being allied to Leithlis and not the main government of Blackthorn, also pulled out of the war after this agreement was made. This ensured the safety of the Id'eskanan territories, and even trapped one of the Borean mercenary forces on Omis without supply. With this safety ensured, and a large portion of the Blackthorian military and economic base now out of the war, the Coalition forces could completely focus their efforts on taking control of the remaining towns.

September 7, 19 AC. Situation Report of the Coalition Forces

On September 7, 19 AC, A siege party formed of cavalry from the Coalition rode for Azuria, they planned to take the southern cities of Blackthorn. As they arrived at each town, they did not encounter any defences. The Coalition managed to capture Azuria, New Pangolias, The Faewood, Mighgalir, Rukia And Talonsport without encountering any resistance. As Azuria fell, the Coalition forces raised the flag of their cause above the port, to inform all ocean travelers of the new regime.

Aftermath

With such a sweeping victory, the Coalition of Wrensbath took complete control of the Commonwealth of Blackthorn. Soon after his victory, Friedrich Czírjäshchausé contacted the remaining leading figures of Blackthorn. On September 7, 19 AC he formed his new government and proclaimed the Commonwealth of Blackthorn to now be called Ceyreto, and he would lead it as the Serene Oligar.
