Arto-rīg (Arthur) was a part of a nomadic tribe, the Vimrök. During one of the tribe's hunts, a fierce snow storm scattered its members, separating Arto-rīg from the rest of his tribe. Now the only known surviving member of his tribe, Arto-rīg wandered the frozen wilderness in the middle of the raging blizzard, searching desperately for his family and friends.
After two days of trekking through the storm, Arto-rīg was close to succumbing to hypothermia. Losing hope of ever seeing his tribe again and longing for warmth, Arto-rīg huddled next to a dying campfire and gradually faded from consciousness, grimly accepting his fate.
Several hours later, he awakened in an igloo in Winter Hallow, having been found and nursed back to health by its residents. Remembering the childhood stories of the treacherous humans and the lethal conflicts between their militias and his tribe, Arto-rīg initially tried to escape the igloo. However, after the residents calmed him down and reassured him of their good intentions, Arto-rīg finally decided to stay put.
To Arto-rīg's surprise, the people of Winter Hallow were extremely friendly, fascinated by his feline appearance rather than repulsed. They politely asked him about how he had ended up at the outskirts of the village and about his tribe. Remembering the loss of his family and friends, Arto-rīg became increasingly sorrowful as he spoke with the villagers. To make matters worse, his name was unpronounceable to the villagers, who unintentionally ostracized him with their stumbling over his tribe's language.
Just then, Cottage Goblin, the leader of the villagers, invited Arto-rīg to become a fully-recognized citizen of the village. She also granted him a more pronounceable name for the villagers to use: Arthur. Arto-rīg, moved by this gesture, gladly accepted membership along with the name, seeing it as an opportunity to start his life anew. With a new name and a new tribe, Arthur now works hard to integrate himself into his new home, adopting the villagers' ways while keeping the traditions of the Vimrök alive.
