Rosehalle is an estate in Adelaar located in the region of the Styvarian Range, under the jurisdiction of the Republic of Sundorboren. Formerly an entity under the City of Styvaria, the Rosehalle is the last standing structure of the old capital after Shiftlessness Upheaval.

History

Pre-Shiftlessness Upheaval

In 9, two men of House Rosehalle stumbled upon a "ratlike man of a man". These three men, Brothers Claude and Regenauld Rosehalle, and Zeneth, founded the town of Styvaria. The founding of this town was celebrated among the local tribes and under the charismatic leadership of Zeneth, the town soon grew.

Under the founding contract between the parties involved, the Rosehalle Estate, eponymously known as The Rosehalle, was granted a sizeable parcel of land above the Kvetching Creek. This parcel contained fertile farmland and a long hillside, offering excellent irrigation and location.

Shiftlessness Upheaval

Commonly regarded as the worst thing to ever occur to Styvaria, the Shiftlessness Upheaval was a powerful earthquake that shook the city to the ground. Although devastating to the politics and infrastructure of the main city, due to its subpar construction, lack of earthquake proof designs, and poor post crisis leadership, these factors failed to affect The Rosehalle.

The largely wooden construction offered more leeway than the stone structures that made up the center of the town; furthermore, the focus on high quality materials by Regenauld Rosehalle, lead architect, allowed the structure to survive.

Later on analysis of the disaster revealed the epicenter of the Shiftlessness Upheaval was located in the town center.

Post-Shiftlessness Upheaval

The economic recovery of The Rosehalle was slowed by the damage caused by the Shiftlessness Upheaval. The collapse of trade between the city and its neighbors was exacerbated by the collapses of the three of the four main bridges of Styvaria. The failure of the political elite of Styvaria to attempt search and rescue actions for trapped civilians caused riots and unrest, further strained the housing and food crisis.

Raiders and scavengers proceeded to steal anything of value from the city: every sign, several hundred thousand cobblestone, assorted windows, and one lamp off the Rosehalle Approach. Farms were made barren, and the warehouse district remains' were turned upside down and burnt.

Recovery came slowly at first, as the stores of seeds and vegetables were near empty. The fields were soon once again flourish and fertile and the lumber yards where once again buzzing away with activity.

Sundorborean Era

(Also referred to as the Post-Post Shiftlessness Upheaval)

The Rosehalle estate has returned to its pre-Shiftlessness Upheaval grandeur. The old city of Styvaria, still lost in the ruins of an unrecoverable age, was replaced by unkept greenery. Disturbed by this lack of order obstructing their view, House Rosehalle has taken to replacing the savage overgrowth with a upkept hedge maze. Diplomatic relations have been normalized with its neighbors in a state not seen since Old Styvaria.
