While being active as the town's of Zethortal doctor Axel still loved his adventures and could be seen traveling when he had the time outside of his clinic. he went from village to village town to town helping those in need when needed, learning more and more about different races and how to treat them, from dwarves to beastfolk and everything in between Axel always helped those in need, and after a long travel he would come back home to Zethortal and his clinic.
=== War: Blackthorn vs. Arkstadt ===
During the war between Blackthorn and Arkstadt, Axel could be seen defending his home. He was not prone to violence, but this war left him no choice. It was either fight back or be killed while trying to plead with an enemy who seemed to lack any reason. He was given armor to protect himself, as well as a sword with a shield and a bow to shoot those who would not dare to come close.
As the hour of battle neared, so did the tension. No one knew how many were coming or what they would bring. Some prayed, while others seemed to try to calm themselves. Some even sharpened their blades with a wicked look on their faces. While it might be war, they seemed to enjoy this a little too much, Axel thought to himself but remained quiet.
As it began, they stormed the walls, and a volley of arrows and bolts were shot at the attacking army. Axel, on wall duty, kept running around the perimeters of the wall, making sure to shoot arrows at any enemy he saw and shield-bashing those who managed to sneak onto the wall, trying to dodge the arrows shot at him. His shield was filled with those he did not dodge. After the attackers seemed to leave their attack, Blackthorn went on the offensive.
Axel hurried to Arkstadt to assist with the counter-siege. Upon arrival, he encountered a soldier of Kalikhan, an ally of Arkstadt. Seeing that this individual appeared to show more control and reason, Axel attempted to speak with him while they exchanged blows, their swords clashing against creaking shields.
Axel managed to land some hits before the soldier executed a powerful swing towards his shield, shattering it and propelling him backward. Before Axel could react, the soldier did not hesitate and lunged his sword at him, piercing his chest. Blood spewed out, covering the enemy's blade, with some of it landing on his face. Axel emitted a soundless scream as his body went limp on the blade, his eyes turning dull. With his last breath departing, the doctor of Zethortal was no more.
