Kodrata, officially the Most Serene Republic of Kodrata (Qadocian: Ddaǧi Demažab Qodrátava; Uvantian: Jarno Eksikogh Tagrungo kala Kodrata), was a mercantile republic in Prsata. Centered on the Codra Bay, the republic's capital was located at Uvantium and its largest city was the maritime hub of Abzenada. The republic was a unification of two previously warring groups: the Qadocians and the Uvantians. After years of bloody struggle between the two, peace was achieved through the marriage of two influential nobles, one Uvantian and the other Qadocian. The peace established by this marriage resulted in the signing of the Covenant of the Codra, and culminated in the unification of the two ethnicities under the banner of Kodrata. The republic was for long led by Exarch Istro Borés, a position elected by the Foscarrs, a high-ranking council of advisors sourced from the wealthy trading families of the Codra, with the elected Diumo (Senate) serving as the legislature.
Geography
The geography of Kodrata was described as diverse and beautiful. Kodrata boasted vast plains and lush forests, located in a temperate region with warm summers and mild winters.
The ecology of Kodrata was at the time a diverse and dynamic system that supported a variety of plant and animal life. The country's geography and climate provided an environment that molded the ecology uniquely for the region.
The vast plains in the north of the country housed a short grass prairie ecosystem. The prairie regions were filled by short-medium grasses that were adapted to the dry, windy conditions of the region. Due to dry conditions, farming was often supported by heavy irrigation. These grasses also supported a variety of grazing animals such as sheep, pig, and cows. The plains also provided shelter for a variety of bird species such as hawks, eagles, and chickens.
Climate
Islands and Northern Regions
Abzenada and Temporium share a similar climate. The climate is similar because of the humid hot summers and mild winters. Both towns are located in a subtropical region, where the climate is influenced by the surrounding bodies of water.
Western and Southern Regions
Uvantium is located in a maritime climate. This means that the town experiences mild temperatures throughout the year, with cool summers and mild winters. The climate is also characterized by a high level of precipitation, especially during the winter months.
