Australis Confederacy

The Australis Confederacy (also known as the Australis Confederation) is a nation in Prsta. The Confederation boasts one of the largest territorial claims in the entire continent, spanning hundreds of thousands of chunks.

PRE-HISTORY

The Australis Confederacy is primarily made up of refugees from the earth server Datblock. Datblock was a toxic community famous for allowing doxxers to continue playing. Southnsniper, then president of the Republic of Florida, and TeamTokes, President of the Ironwood Federation, ordered for their communities to pull out of the server. After time on CCNET, Stoneworks, and other nations, they finally settled in Alathra.

EARLY HISTORY

The group, often called the "first five", originally settled on the northwestern continent. Due to geo-political tensions and a abundance of land in the south, the group made the 8,000 block voyage to Cape Bartow. The capital of Newer Polk was founded, as the original town was called New Polk. 

The first days of the new town were tough. Constant massacres by the mobs throughout the night meant that the disorganized populace went through a lot. Eventually, walls were built, and the first builders created the Capital House in downtown Newer Polk.

NAMING CONTROVERSY

The original name for the Confederation was to be the Confederate States of Alathra. The move was intended to be a peaceful one, as the group wanted to make a good use of the name. At the request of the mods however, the name was changed to Australis, latin for "south".

MODERN HISTORY

The Ironwood Estates were founded soon after Newer Polk got off the ground. Newer Polk began expanding into the interior of Prsta, eventually amassing the largest claim in the entire continent. Roads are currently being built to connect those territories, with the I-95 running from Newer Polk down to Ironwood.

Newer Polk revolutionized neighborhood farms, where each resident could purchase 2 plots in one purchase to build a horse and small farm. Newer Polk is also known for some of the only known apartment complexes in the entire server, which was engineered by yardog9.

The Confederation has quickly amazed allies on the server, and with their growing defense industry, are expected to play a vital role in geopolitics for years to come.

GOVERNMENT

The Government is based off the old republican-style governments that were present on Datblock. Notable figures include:

southnsniper- The Caesar (latin for emperor) of the Confederation, who has complete authority over the Armed Forces, in addition to general leadership in other fields

TeamTokes- The Prime Minister of the Confederation, who is responsible for leading the State Department through some of it's toughest negotiations. 

yardog9- The Chief Engineer at Newer Polk, responsible for building some of the finest roads in the world.

DEFENSE

The Confederation Army is one of the few known armies in the world to use war dogs. Each soldier is assigned 4-6 K-9's to act as a force multiplier in battle. The Army is experienced in ground warfare, as it is primarily made up of experienced veterans with training and war in other servers. One notable thing is that each Army soldier is required to have their shield carry the flag of the Confederation. This also applies to the State Militias whenever they are mobilized.

Each town is authorized under the Constitution to maintain a militia that may be called into service with the National Army. This system, similar to the U.S National Guard, is meant to keep the Army at full strength in any battle. When it's milita is mobilized, the town mayor may draft all of his residents to form a town guard to defend the town while the militia is at war.

The Confederation Navy currently possesses 3 warships, with many more on the way: -CSS Ironwood, based out of Newer Polk -CSS Gator, based out of Newer Polk -CSS Titan, based out of Newer Polk

With newer claims, the Navy is set to construct two bases on each side of the nation as a headquarters for 2 fleets. CSS Ironwood will reportedly travel south while CSS Gator may travel north.

ECONOMY AND CULTURE

Agriculture and mining are a major money making business in the nation, along with engineering, ship building, and trade.

The Confederation is known for it's tight bond and welcoming attitudes with all of their citizens. The oldest citizen has been following the community since 2021.

The culture of the Australis can be traced back to Florida culture, which consists of pieces from the State of Florida, the Southern United States, Central America, Oceania, and more. 

The Confederation is known for it's horse racing, a tradition going back to Florida times. A dedicated racing league with dedicated tracks will come soon.
