Overview

History

When Tiberius Jakivus III moved to Adelaa'r to found the Duchy of Tiberia, he needed to solidify his reign over the Deichtibier Peninsula and so created the House of Tiberia, which later became one of the most powerful houses in the Drakedom of Drachenland.

After he returned from captivity, the Empire of Styvaria and later Commonwealth of Adelaar allowed the House to stay as a noble family within their courts.

The title of Head of the House was temporarily vacant after Tiberius temporarily gave up all of his noble titles and became the Vice President of Texasia, but during the Traitor Valley War, he escaped Texasia.

He soon re-formed the house as a minor sect of the Id'eskanan nobility.

Etymology

  • Coat-of-Arms: The shield is in the colors and patterns of the Jhaian flag, the crowned dual-headed eagle contrasts with the Drachen dragon symbol to show that they are united yet different, and the cross-and-anchor, called the Tiberian Cross, represents the strength the House possesses through both naval and political power.
  • Name: Named after the Duchy it ruled.

Titles of the Head of the House

While the Head is commonly referred to as just the "Head of the House", Tiberius Jakivus has recently changed the title to "Lord Protector of the House of Tiberia".

Order of St. Tiberius

In honor of his in-lore ancestor, St. Tiberius, Tiberius Jakivus has recently created a chivalric order of knighthood called the "Order of St. Tiberius", which the Head/Lord Protector may bestow upon absolutely anyone who is a member of the same noble structure as the House. There are three different levels of the Order, each representing a different level of importance that the wearer may possess. These are the Basic Cross, Grand Cross, and Knight's Cross. Each level looks different, yet each has three wearable forms: A badge, a chest medal, and a collar medal. On military uniforms, all may be worn at once, on non-military ceremonial outfits the chest medal cannot be worn, and on civilian clothes only the badge may be worn. Here is what each version of the Order looks like:

  • Basic Cross (Badge): A large metal replica of the Tiberian Cross, with the cross itself being made of iron and the anchor being made of gold.
  • Basic Cross (Chest Medal): A small metal replica of the Tiberian Cross, with the cross itself being made of iron and the anchor being made of gold, hanging from a British-style bright-red medal's ribbon decorated with a thin white stripe in the middle and black stripes bordering the left and right sides.
  • Basic Cross (Collar Medal): A small metal replica of the Tiberian Cross, with the cross itself being made of iron and the anchor being made of gold, hanging from a red ribbon with a white stripe going round the center and two black stripes on top that may hang over or under a uniform collar.
  • Grand Cross (Badge): A large metal replica of the Tiberian Cross, with the cross itself being iron with gold accents on the edges and the anchor being made of gold.
  • Grand Cross (Chest Medal): A small metal replica of the Tiberian Cross, with the cross itself being iron with gold accents on the edges and the anchor being made of gold, hanging from a British-style bright-red medal's ribbon decorated with a thin white stripe in the middle and black stripes bordering the left and right sides.
  • Grand Cross (Collar Medal): A small metal replica of the Tiberian Cross, with the cross itself being iron with gold accents on the edges and the anchor being made of gold, hanging from a red ribbon with a white stripe going round the center and two black stripes on top that may hang over or under a uniform collar.
  • Knight's Cross (Badge): A small metal replica of the Tiberian Cross with eight silver points protruding from it, with the cross itself being made of iron and the anchor being made of gold.
  • Knight's Cross (Chest Medal): A small metal replica of the Tiberian Cross with eight silver points protruding from it, with the cross itself being made of iron and the anchor being made of gold, hanging from a British-style bright-red medal's ribbon decorated with a thin white stripe in the middle and black stripes bordering the left and right sides.
  • Knight's Cross (Collar Medal): A small metal replica of the Tiberian Cross with eight silver points protruding from it, with the cross itself being made of iron and the anchor being made of gold, hanging from a red ribbon with a white stripe going round the center and two black stripes on top that may hang over or under a uniform collar.

All wearers of the Knight's Cross also gain the title of "Sir/Madame".
